Purchasing Manager

• Source and purchasethe most suitable products for the operation that are relevant and in line with Six Senses policies plus wellness and sustainability practices
• A good understanding of effective procurement procedures within the hospitality, property investment industry.
• Experience with the ability to demonstrate commercial and financial acumen, and to articulate the benefits of defined procurement processes.
• Prior experience of supply chain and procurement working within the industry (preferably from hospitality).
• Instill a fair and transparent Vendor/Supplier Vetting process
  and hold vendors/ suppliers
  Six Senses Sustainability and Eat With Six Senses guidelines.
• Proactively engage in weekly Farmers’ Market and make purchasing trips to local farmers, bakers, and fishermen to help grow local community vendors/suppliers before choosing large global vendors/ suppliers.

Qualifications

• Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Purchasing Management, or a relevant field of work and three years of purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  More than three years’ experience in a similar role, is desired.
• Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred.

• Purchasing of spares, replacement parts and other auxiliary materials.
• Liaising with in-house customs department personnel to ensure goods are received as scheduled, reconciliation of incoming parts and spares and other auxiliary materials through the confirmation of a receiving report.
• Ensure that the necessary procedures are followed in handling claims on shippers and suppliers.

QUALIFICATION/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Associates Degree in Business Management/ Accounting or equivalent and Five (5) years’ experience in a similar position.

• Detailed knowledge of purchasing requirements.
• In-depth understanding of international & local shipping procedures.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office.
• Excellent troubleshooting and negotiating skills.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
