Our beach maintenance workers operate under the direct supervision of the Beach Maintenance Supervisor and are responsible for:

• Cleaning beaches and the immediate surroundings.
• Operating and maintaining beach cleaning tools.
• Ensuring that safety hazards are reported to the Supervisor.
• Providing general assistance and information to beachgoers; responding to routine questions.
• Assisting with environmental emergency response on designated beaches
• Any other duties as assigned.
  
  Essential criteria
• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, carry, bend, or kneel for significant periods of time.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must have good oral communication skills.
• Must be able to work cooperatively with colleagues and the public.
• Must be able to work weekends and public holidays as required.
