Position Summary

The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority and is accountable to the board of Directors for the overall leadership, management and administration of the Authority. The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic direction and ensuring the effective implementation of the Authority’s mandate in accordance with its enabling legislation and the policies established by the Board.

The Executive Director will lead the regulation and supervision of Grenada’s non-bank financial sector, promote sound corporate governance, strengthen market integrity, safeguard consumers, support financial inclusion and enhance public confidence in the sector. The role also requires fostering effective relationships with government, regulated entities, regional and international regulatory bodies, development partners and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• A postgraduate Degree (Master’s or higher) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Law, Public Administration, Risk Management or a related field
• An advanced professional qualification in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, CFA, or equivalent) would be an asset
• A minimum of (10) years of progressively responsible senior management experience, preferably including executive leadership responsibilities
• Significant experience in financial sector regulation or the financial services industry, including one or more of the following areas: insurance, pensions, credit unions, money service businesses, microfinance, fintech or other non-bank financial institutions
• Demonstrated knowledge of prudential regulation, risk-based supervision, corporate governance, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance and consumer protection frameworks
• Experience working with government agencies, regulatory authorities, international financial institutions, regional organizations or multilateral development partners will be an advantage

• A thorough understanding of the regulation and supervision of Grenada’s non-bank financial sector and relevant international regulatory standards and best practices

• High standards of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, policy development and sound decision-making abilities
• Proven ability to lead organizational transformation, manage change and build high-performing teams
• The ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with government, regulators, industry stakeholders, regional organizations and international partners
• A Sound understanding of emerging risks, financial innovation, digital transformation and the evolving non-bank financial services landscape
• Strong financial management and resource planning skills

Terms of Appointment

The Executive Director will be appointed on a contractual basis for a term of 3 years in the first instance.  The successful candidate will receive a competitive remuneration and benefits package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position, qualifications and relevant experience.
