Grenada Marine and 12N are in the business of storing, repairing, and refitting boats. Customer care is the cornerstone of our company. Quality work on time and in budget is our goal. None of these activities or the quality of service the company strives to achieve will occur without the support of the administrative back office. A smooth running office that supports day-to-day operational effectiveness is essential.
Responsibilities:
The Bookkeeper also fills the role of Administrative Office Coordinator (AOC) and plays a critical role in the day-to-day operation of the back office at Grenada Marine, and the success of the business. The Bookkeeper/ Administrative Office Coordinator is responsible for assuring that information produced by the administrative back office is accurate to the best of their ability. He/she will support the required procedures that produce accurate invoicing, and financial reports. He/she functions with Accountant guidance and oversight, but must work independently, keep the accountant informed and most importantly supports operational needs for information and data. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft office and Google and the ability to achieve a working knowledge of the company’s management software, as it relates to daily bookkeeping entries, reconciliations, payroll, receivables and payables. The role also includes essential human resource functions.
Qualifications/Competencies:
The Bookkeeper/Administrative Office Coordinator is a self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented individual, who is interested in learning about the importance of a strong, functional support team for the business operations and its accounting needs, and possesses the following qualifications:
- Minimum of ten years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting, and supervising staff;
- knowledge of the boating industry is important, willingness to learn is required;
- possesses administrative, planning, research, and analytical skills;
- professional, detail and service oriented;
- Strong interpersonal skills: positive attitude, self-confident, good work ethic, collaborative, ability to manage work relationships, accepts guidance and instruction from superiors;
- Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish goals and objectives of administrative back office;
- Efficient and productive time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize appropriately;
- Good written communication skills required, including a command of the English language, the ability to write clearly and effectively.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times;
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel, ability and willingness to learn new software and computer systems and processes, database experience helpful
