Job Description
An established restaurant, bar & grill located in Woburn, St. George’s is seeking to hire a Kitchen Assistant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen and restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Customer Service:
○ Assist with preparing ingredients, such as chopping, slicing, and peeling vegetables and fruits.
○ Wash and sanitize produce to ensure food safety standards.
○ Package and store food items properly.
○ Assist in preparing customer orders.
○ Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
○ Assist with fulfilling customer orders as needed.
○ Maintain a positive and collaborative attitude with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Kitchen Maintenance:
○ Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment, including work surfaces, equipment, dishes, and floors.
○ Wash dishes, pots, and pans.
○ Take out trash and recycling.
○ Stock kitchen supplies and ingredients.
○ Update and maintain kitchen stock lists.
Qualifications:
● Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred, but not required.
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
● Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
● Food Handler’s Certification (or willingness to obtain).
● A passion for food and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
● Basic food safety knowledge and certification (or willingness to obtain).
