Job Description

The Grenada Development Bank (GDB) is seeking to fill the position of Loans Officer.

JOB SUMMARY
To identify, evaluate, appraise, recommend and monitor loans and projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Seeks new viable projects to finance.
  2. Stays abreast of new types of loans and other financial products and services offered by the Bank in order to better meet customers’ needs.
  3. Explains to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms and conditions.
  4. Interviews applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process.
  5. Analyzes applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
  6. Completes application forms thoroughly with the assistance of the proposed borrower.
  7. Records all loan applications and assigns an application number.
  8. Conducts security appraisal visits and completes security appraisal forms.
  9. Obtains and compiles copies of loan applicants’ credit history, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
  10. Monitors loan repayment and performance and ensures that payments are made in a timely manner.
  11. Any other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 1st degree/tertiary level education in Accounting, Business or a related field
    Or
  • Other similar qualifications and related experience.

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good communication and interviewing skills
  • Excellent project appraisal and project management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other loan management system.
  • Valid driver’s license
