Vacancy: Paralegal – Governance, Legal & Board Secretariat support
Type: Fixed-term Contract
Commencement: Immediately or by February 16th, 2026
Salary range: EC$3,600 – $4,100 per month

Role Overview

The Senior Paralegal – Governance, Legal & Board Secretariat Support provides comprehensive administrative, technical, and legal support to the Board of Directors and senior management. The role combines paralegal services, governance administration, and corporate secretarial support to ensure that legal, statutory, and governance obligations are efficiently managed, accurately documented, and completed within required timelines.

The successful candidate will support legal drafting, research, litigation coordination, file management, and stakeholder communication, while providing professional administrative support to the Board and other departments as required.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and technical legal support, including file management, document control, and deadline monitoring
  • Assist with drafting, proofreading, and organizing legal documents, correspondence, contracts, policies, pleadings, and related materials, subject to approval by authorized officers or legal counsel
  • Conduct legal, regulatory, and documentary research and prepare case summaries, briefing notes, and reports
  • Support litigation and dispute-related matters, including court filings, organization and archiving of case files, and liaison with external legal counsel
  • Maintain communication with the Board, senior executives, regulators, and other stakeholders regarding meetings, appointments, court dates, hearings, and document requests
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Board of Directors and its committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and meeting files, taking minutes, and tracking follow-up actions
  • Assist with the coordination of Board meetings, Annual General Meetings, and special sessions, including preparation and circulation of materials
  • Maintain statutory registers, governance records, and official corporate documentation
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments and compile relevant information for internal review
  • Perform other reasonable legal, governance, or secretarial support duties consistent with the scope of the position, as assigned by the Board

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional training and/or certification in legal practice, paralegal studies, governance, compliance, or corporate secretarial practice is required
  • An Associate Degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, Governance, Public Administration, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant legal and secretarial experience, OR
  • A First Degree in Law, Governance, Public Administration, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant legal and secretarial experience
  • Experience providing legal and administrative support in a law firm, corporate, public sector, or regulatory environment
  • Experience supporting senior executives, Boards, or regulatory bodies is desirable
